And here's the whole kit:

Tennessee is gorgeous!
Here are a few shots of our cabin and the beautiful countryside...
Our cabin is a three story beauty, set right into the side of the mountain. We are about 3/4 of the way up the mountain and our view is pretty tree-studded- but oh so peaceful. It proves pretty difficult to actually get a good shot of our cabin with the way the roads are, but hey... this will do for now.

The second photo is of the main floor as you look in from the doorway. We have a HUGE plasma screen tv that is hung over the stone fireplace and it's just gorgeous inside.

The third photo is a shot I took from the car on the way into town to get groceries. That's the mountain we're living on for the next week. I've taken so many photos from the car as we've been driving around, it isn't even funny! LOL And some of them are actually good!

Sadly, I used my entire stick the first few days and have just now gotten them off and onto my computer- I can't believe I took 355 pictures! LOL At least I will have fun scrapping them!

Vacation!
Kim and I are leaving today for Pigeon Forge, Tennessee! I am so excited I can barely contain myself... it's been so long since I've taken a vacation that wasn't work related or maybe something work related for Jeff. This one is just about having some 'me' time. We've rented a luxury cabin and we're bringing lots of scrappy supplies and it will be raining for the first few days that we are down there, so we're gonna make the most of it- hopefully I'll have lots of pages and pictures to share when I get home!

Announcing... Scrapperie!
Ok, so I've been holding in a little secret for quite some time now. Around the end of last year, beginning of this year... Kim and I decided to go into business together. I'm so excited I could literally just explode! We've been working on our new website for literally, months. We decided last week we were going to officially open on April 1st, but after a really long (and fun) chat tonight on the phone, we think we have everything set the way we want it and OPENED! I can barely catch my breath, and I know the next few weeks are going to literally just fly by.... but I really, really hope we can do ok. I can't wait until May 1st when we've planned our Grand Opening. We will unveil our very first monthly kit then, too. I honestly hope you all love it as much as we already do. Please come stop by, register and chat a while... we'd love to have you.

Hey everybody, just wanted to share with you all:

All The Rage Ezine is the scrapbook forecasting, trend reporting and news ezine. We are now accepting layouts for our sketch column. So if you want to see your interpretation of our sketch in the electronic magazine, then please send a scan or digital picture (no larger than 72dpi) to our editorial staff at alltherageezine@madaboutscrapbooks.com, subject: May Sketches.

Each submission must include your name, address, telephone number, email address, the size of your page, and any a list of supplies used. Please also include any special tips or techniques that were used in creating your project.

It is important to note that any submitted creation must be original and not previously published - either in print or anywhere on the Internet.

Creating Keepsakes toot!
I'm glad I was paying attention today when I was cleaning out my spam box... I had a request from Fred and Creating Keepsakes in there! It was for one of my layouts for the new 4x6 photo book! YAY!

Life is a Great Bundle...

For the April Scrappin' Trends ezine, I opted to make a layout using a sketch that Elisa Kammerdiener made. This is my take on it.

Of course, these two are my nieces, Sadie and Madison. I took these photos one days last summer. In the large photo, they are actually running away from me- trying to get to the playground as fast as they could go!

I used some Crate Papers for this and the quotes are the new chipboard embellies from American Crafts.

For the Love of Fashion

Looks like I forgot to upload this layout last month too- I did this one for Scrappin' Trends for the month of March. Our sponsor was Stemma nad I loved how this bright paper matched my nieces coats in this photo. I added some letter stickers and chipboard alphas and some Queen & Co brads. The page itself is actually made on a base of the Bazzill mini scalloped paper, but it is kinda hard to see in the scan. I was thinking I might add some black ink around the edges to make it a little more defined.
{As always, if you click on any of these photos, it will open up a larger view in a new window.}

Grey's Addict

Anyone who knows me, knows I am a diehard Grey's Anatomy fan. From the very first show, I was hooked. I never miss an episode and even watch it in reruns and online at abc.com! (Which is where I got this awesome photo.)

This was my last layout using the Transparent Touches & Tags April kit that uses Dream Street Papers and Carolee's Creations. I also used the Imagination Project letter coasters and a new journaling spot transparency.

You Make Me Smile

Gee, can you guys tell I really love my sweet Weimie, Payton? I swear I have almost as many pictures of him as I do of my nieces! He's become quite photogenic! LOL

Anyway, this is one more for TTT using the April Dream Street and Adornit/Carolee's Creations kit.
I just love browns and blues together, so I really had a lot of fun with this kit. It's really hard to see in this scan, but there is a clear etched decorative button on top of the circle coaster transparency- and that's what holds everything together in that "you make me smile" in the corner. I also pen stitched and doodled around some of the papers and the border of the layout.

Families are Forever

One of my projects this month for the Transparent Touches and Tags newsletter was to create a layout based on a sketch. I chose one of my friend's sketches to copy: Robin Blankenship. She's a very talented scrapper (and now digital designer) that makes some fun sketches- just for the fun of it.

I chose to use my TTT April kit that features Dream Street Papers and Adornit/Carolee's Creations. I also used one of the 7 Gypsies 97% complete cardstock stickers. Quick and easy!

This photo was taken last October when I went down to go help my Mom and Dad judge one of Michael's NIFA competitions at Purdue. We had such a blast!

Spring Fashion Show

One more from my Transparent Touches & Tags April kit featuring Dream Street Papers and Adornit/Carolee's Creations papers. One of the things we were to do this month is to use a sketch by Becky Fleck- she makes the most awesome sketches. (If you have never seen them, check out Page Maps to see lots more.)

These were two of my favorite photos from this year's Beta Gamma Spring Fashion Show. The top one is (of course) the girls- my nieces, Sadie and Madison and the bottom one is my Mom and me. And if you can believe it- Madison took that picture! I guess I've taught her pretty well, huh?

Altered checkbook cover

As part of the kit this month at Transparent Touches & Tags, Monica included a checkbook cover to alter. Can you believe I've never done one? I swear, I must have like 3 or 4 sitting in my stash, but I've never actually altered one! So, this is my first- and I used some Carolee's Creations paper, an Imagination Project coaster letter and a transparency. Now, I won't feel so bad the next time I whip out my checkbook to pay for my order at Pages in Time! LOL

Live Out Loud card

Another quick and easy card from the March Transparent Touhces & tags newsletter.

Quick Thank You card

This is just a quick and easy Thank You card I made for Transparent Touches & Tags March newsletter. I don't think I had uploaded it last month, so I am adding it in now. I used some leftover Fancy Pants tags, some scraps of their paper and added a transparency and ta-da! Instant card.
